News Update and Planning Committee Meeting details (01/03/2010)...

As regards the plans for the new estate on Radcliffe Road, further to the meeting on the 9th Februray at Darcy Lever Cricket Club, another meeting was held on Monday 22nd February at Leverhulme Park with a small group of residents, and all other parties involved within this application.

Again the residents questioned the principle of development on this site and pressed to make changes to make the site more tolerable should we have to accept it. Whilst the response we got was somewhat positive in certain areas, we are still working on getting our objections acted upon.

This application is planning to be heard by planning committee meeting on 2PM next Thurday 4th March at the Town Hall and as such Alex will be making a statement on behalf of the residents objecting to this development. There will also be a site visit at 10:15AM on the same day, so if anyone fancies a chance at trying to persuade the councillors to rule in our favour, the site visit is the time to do it.

Other than that we thank you all for your support in the last few months, and hope that our efforts will come to some good.

Public meeting with our local councillor Sean Hornby on Monday 8th February at 6:30PM at the Darcy Lever Cricket club...
